Alright, for those of you that know me very well, or probably not even that well, you know I could live off of cereal, french fries, and dr. pepper. (I know, that is horribly unhealthy.) And you also know that I am a picky eater. Coming out here part of my job as being a nanny is cooking dinner every night during the weekdays for the kids. I have never really enjoyed cooking, I would rather just heat something up in the microwave or eat cereal. But that had to change. So I have been looking up tons of recipes and trying new things to cook for the kids. It's been tough at times because I am cooking for one VERY VERY VERY picky eater. Worse than me! She turns her nose up at ANYTHING. (Side note: I am so sorry Mom and Dad for being such a picky eater growing up and throwing fits, I now understand and I love you :)) She won't even give anything a shot and even if it is like just plain chicken or some simple pasta. It gets very frustrating! But I am trying my best and trying to be patient. Hopefully I can help her because I know what it's like to be a picky eater.
The next adventure in food coming out here is trying new things, I don't mind trying something and then being like "hmm nope don't like it". A lot of places around where I live are diners, or privately owned places. So not very many chains. Especially chains that are west coast dominant - like Red Robin, Wingers, Texas Roadhouse, ect. Some of my favorite places! But that's besides the point - being here only 2 and a half weeks I have tried some good stuff! Lots of pizza :) which is super good! And some hole-in-the-wall Chinese places. I have heard to stay away from some certain ones here in town cause they like to use Raccoon (ew!) This past Friday I was with some of the people from the ward and we tried some Middle Eastern food! I was kinda nervous and told them that if I got food poisoning they had to take care of me. haha. It was pretty good though. They use a lot of wheat tortillas and pitas filled with chicken and rice. And they use a lot of hummus but I don't like that. I am glad I ventured out and tried it though! It was good.
I am doing horrible at taking pictures of things - I don't have a camera, I just use my phone so I am sorry everyone but I am working on it! Hope you aren't all freezing in Idaho. It was 55 degrees here yesterday, I didn't even wear a jacket! (Sorry!)
