Remember my last blog post about me mocking the fact that some "big" blizzard was supposed to come. Well it came and it was named Nemo. And it brought a lot of snow. It snowed for 24 hours straight and it came fast! I have never seen that much snow fall out of the sky at the same time. Like you couldn't even really see anything the snow was coming so fast and so much!
This was around 7:30 in the morning. It was about an inch on the ground.
And these two pictures were around 6 at night when there was about 9ish inches on the ground. It doesn't look like that much cause I am standing in the road but there was a lot of snow. We went sledding down the drive way that night. It was a lot of fun!
This was Saturday afternoon around 4ish. It had finally stopped but we had about a foot and a half of snow! That is the most this place has ever gotten. It was crazy!
I get CNN updates to my phone and this is one I got on Thursday night before the storm had even hit (Yes, I like musicals...haha). Up more North in CT, Maine, Rhode Island and so forth got up to 40 inches of snow. That is a lot of snow for these parts! NYC got about 8 inches.
But enough about the weather, this past weekend I went into the city with my friend Emily. We went to a resturaunt called Max Brenner's. He calls himself the modern-day Willy Wonka. Basically he makes everything with chocolate and it was heavenly! But he also makes normal food too but secretly adds chocolate to the mix. It's pretty cool. I got a burger that had this special BBQ sauce on it which I am sure had some chocolate in it - which you think sounds weird but it was so yummy! And they serve waffle fries which are always good but they sprinkle them with chili powder and cocoa. YUM! I was full for the rest of the day. I want to go back to try more desserts. I got a milkshake that was super good, so I am sure the dessert menu is perfect. Then we just walked around Union Square for a little bit. It wasn't too cold out, but I want it to warm up so I can do more touristy things!
