As luck would have it

This weekend was such a perfect first weekend back in New York! It started out on Friday night driving up to Westport, CT to get some much needed Shake Shack (seriously, I love that place!) with some friends. I even got free ice cream thanks to Sarah flirting with the check out boy! After that we all went to my friend Chase's to watch a movie. We watched 10 Things I Hate About You. It was a great night!

Saturday I slept in which was much needed from a week of traveling and getting back to the routine of being a nanny. I slowly got ready then a few of us went into the city! This was a day of luck I tell you. It started out at the train station we got free M&M's from the vending machine. They were just sitting in the bottom. Score! We got into the city around 3:45 and headed to a place called Totto for dinner. Now let me tell you, this is a Ramen house. (Yes, like top ramen.) I was a little skeptical cause I am not the biggest fan of Top Ramen. haha. But the reviews were great. So we get there around 4:30 and it's sorta busy. It's a super tiny place and they tell us they are going to have to split us up because they don't have a table to fit 5 people. Well we are walking back to the tables and they are like oh! this group didn't show up so you can sit together! We scored there. And it was the best food I have had in so long! I can't even explain it - just saying if you ever visit NYC you have to go there! Also, as we were leaving the place was PACKED. We sure did time that perfectly.
The Ramen!

To test our winning streak of the day we decided to go enter the Wicked lottery. We got there right in time to be in the front of the line. We had to wait about 30ish minutes for them to draw the names and our luck continued - Chase's name was called so he won two front row tickets for Wicked! So Kylie & Chase went and saw it cause out of all of us they had never seen it. So Sarah, Nate, and I decided to go see what half price tickets we could get for a show. We decided to see Phantom of the Opera. Which I have seen but it's a show I would see again and again. So by this time it's about 6:30 so we decide to all get some dessert together before we go to our separate shows. We went to this place called Amy's Bread. This may have been the best decision of the night. They sell all types of cakes, brownies, cookies, breads, and cupcakes. They are known for what is called "Monkey Bread' which is a pineapple banana cake with cream cheese frosting. This cake was sooooo good! It was perfection. After we ate there we went and saw our shows!

Sarah, Me, & Nate!

Sunday was great too! We got a new bishopric at church which always bittersweet. After church we went to Chase's as we usually do. Played some trivia games and then watched the Golden Globes! It was a great weekend, full of fun and wonderful people! Let's hope my good karma continues on into the week!
