Washington, D.C.

What a crazy fast weekend I just had. But oh boy was it so much fun!!

Saturday: Woke up at the crack of dawn to drive to DC. It's about a 4 hour drive and it went by pretty quickly. The only time there isn't traffic in New York or New Jersey is at 6:30 AM on a Saturday morning. Which was perfect for us. I went with my friends Nate and Jeremy. We just chatted a long the way and looked at the views. You have to drive through New Jersey, Delaware, and then Maryland. Delaware has this super awesome bridge that we crossed over. I wish I could take cool pictures of bridges so I could show you all.

Our first stop was the Washington DC temple which is in Maryland. Nate and Jeremy had never seen it and I saw it when I was 8 so I was excited to see it again. We walked through the Visitor Center and then walked around the grounds. Because it was conference weekend the place was pretty much empty which I really liked cause it was just so peaceful.

After the temple we made our way to the National Mall. April is the Cherry Blossom Festival in DC and so it is prime tourist season. Let's just say it was SO crowded. But it wasn't bad with just 3 of us. We just pushed our way through tour groups and giant families taking pictures of everything. Oh wait, I took pictures of everything too. We walked so much this weekend my legs might fall off but it was totally worth it.
Thomas Jefferson Monument.

The WWII Monument was so cool.

After we walked a million miles. We headed back to the car and drove to the Arlington Cemetery. This was such a cool thing to witness. It's so cool to see all the white headstones in rows (I know that it shouldn't it be cool because it is a cemetery but it's humbling to know all those people that served for our country as well.) We saw John F Kennedy & Jackie's Graves. After that we made our way up to the Tomb of the Unknown Solider. This was by far my favorite thing we saw all weekend. It's a tomb representing all the fallen solider's that could never be identified. It's always guarded and every half hour they do the changing of the guard. It was so humbling to witness. I have never seen so many tourists be so quiet. You aren't allowed to talk. It's unreal.

After that we made our way to Cafe Rio for dinner! (We were starving by this point and it was the best thing I have ever eaten. haha) After that we just crashed for the night we were so tired.

Sunday: We woke up and headed to the Smithsonian for the day! We did the Natural History Museum, American History Museum, The Capitol Building, The American Indian Museum, The National Botanical Garden, and the Air and Space Museum. It was again a lot of walking but so fun. I love museum's and I am glad that so did Nate and Jeremy.

After all that walking we headed over to the Georgetown Neighborhood and ate some late lunch and got some cupcakes. I wish I could have taken some pictures because Georgetown is the cutest little place. I was in heaven! Then we headed home.

It was such a fun trip and I am so glad I got to go and see all the cool history about our country!

Until the next adventure!
