I love three day weekends. But let's be honest, who doesn't?! This was such a great weekend (i feel repetitive cause i think every weekend is great...)
On Saturday the crew (sarah, nate, chase, billy, and me!) woke up early and headed up to Mystic, CT. It is this super cute little harbor town! We hit up the aquarium first. Now i've been to a few aquariums in my life - but this one wins the best one! THEY HAD WHALES! and penguins, and turtles, and so many sea lions, and sting rays, and a whole room of jelly fish, and sharks, and octopuses, and frogs. Seriously they had so many animals!
This picture doesn't do it justice but this whale was HUGE! We watched them swim forever. There were three of them!
After the aquarium we went to lunch and then walked around downtown Mystic. It's just full of cute little shops and fun things to look at. We took a seaport boat tour. Which was so awesome!
It was a super fun day trip to Mystic! I seriously love being so close to so many cool places and have so much to do. I am so sad this adventure is almost over.
On Monday for Memorial Day we went over to a member of our Bishopric's house for a BBQ and swimming. And the sun decided to stick around (and then left the day after.) I even got sunburnt! It was a nice chill day and I am so grateful for my ward family that really is like a real family!
